SAMSUNG CORBY PRO B5310 -slider-

Perhaps Samsung Corby Pro is not as popular as iPhone or Galaxy. But the bottom line of this phone makes it interested to me. That was 'touchscreen with slider QWERTY'! Find out what it got and what it gives..

Look
- Cute. No macho! Perhaps suitable for the ladies only.. :)


Size
- Just nice to my hand. Not too big, not too small, not too thick, not too slim. Perfect. Especially when you know it was a slider.
- H x W x D = 105 x 56.8 x 15.7 mm
- Weight = 135g. Not a very light one but still ok.

                         

 Other Specs
- 2.8" display touchscreen. Responsive touchscreen. You wont feel empty touching it. But not really smooth as to compare to iPhone or even Galaxy. Feels like you have to push a bit...just a bit...not very hard one :) But if this smoothness is really a big issue, go for iPhone.
- keypad QWERTY. - Acceptable. Not flat. It is efficience.
- 3G, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS..bla..bla..bla. I got an issue about internet connectivity with this phone. It doesnt automatically locate which best connection to use. Eg..If you have selected connection thru Wi-Fi in your house, then when you go out, it will not try to detect other available connection network like your phone lines or other available Wi-Fi. It just simply shows 'unable to connect'.!!! Of coz mah... WTF!! haha.. You need to go to setting again and select your new desired connection network. Then when you come back to your house again, you have to re-setting your connection network. Again and again..? WTF!
- FM radio
- 2 cameras - 3.2mp. Second camera (on face)..no comment. Main camera...ok la..no big issue. I think it's better than my old Nokia N80 3.2mp..but N80 has flash..this one NOT.
- Built-in memory 100MB.
- External memory up to 16GB (Micro SD). Enough la..
- Battery life is good. 10hrs talktime & 600hrs standby.
- Apps - Facebook, Twitter, Google search, Google maps, Youtube, weather forecast, games..etc.

                   

Price
- In November 2010 - new at RM 900+
- I consider this price was cheap for this phone.

Pros
- Touchscreen with QWERTY keypad slider
- Perfect size.
- Cute :)
- Got second camera. Can make video calls. Perhaps would be a cons for guy who wants to escape from his wife :)
- Display resolution bright and clear enough (dont compare to LED).
- Cheap

Cons
- Internet connectivity. I really didnt expect this phone is this dumb. (See my comments above)
- Internet pages not suit well for mobile web. Eg...if the page is too big, it will appear very small in the phone. So you have to enlarge it. But then, when it comes to it's limit, it will tell 'not enough memory'. So, you cannot surf the page..that's it! Unless you can see or read the dots...
- The speaker not loud enough. Very difficult when talking with loudspeaker. Sometimes cannot even hear the phone ringing. And playing music thru the speakers also poor.
- Looking for contacts is not friendly. You have to text a complete name to search. Even more difficult if you forgotten what you saved.

Conclusion
- Recommended!! Nice phone.
- Very good specs compare to it's price
- But i would not buy it. If you have more (enough) power in your pocket, go for other expensive ones.


                                                        

Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 16V

Maybe ramai yang tak tahu what car is this. Lagipun brand Citroen memang tak popular kat Malaysia ni. But this is not just a car..it is my car :) Bought it on 2007. The production was 2005 but maybe tak laku kat oversea, then 'they' bring it in to Malaysia. The car was bought new, just dah terbiar lama tak ber'tuan'. So, consider kereta baru jugak la..not a re-con. In 2009 this model has been completely replaced with C4 Picasso model.

Lets start review & discuss..

Look
 - Kalau tengok mula2 dulu kat kedai, memang takde rasa nak beli pun. Betul2 taste orang tua, takde langsung jiwa remaja..haha.. Maybe memang bukan untuk orang muda / berjiwa remaja.
- Dengan sedikit modal yang 'banyak' (hihi..), boleh di'make-up' bg cantik sket..nak bagi nampak 'remaja'. Tapi bila bawak keta ni kat mana2 kedai, seller dah siap mark up harga. kononnya diorang ingat owner keta ni sure orang kaya (maybe coz keta high maintenance & low resale value)    
- Standard sports rims 15" (pcd 108). But my car has changed to 17".

 

Interior
- This is the best part. Very comfortable (but it's just the front seats only. The rear seats agak kurang rilex but still ok). Spacious. Convinient.
- 5 seater. Better feeling on fabric seat than leather seat.
- Steering wheel is wrapped with leather...just nice.
- Display panel is placed in the center of the dashboard. Memang tak remaja langsung tapi efficient.
- Ada ruang in between front seats. So kalau ada anak2 kecik yang suka menyelit-nyelit tu, memang sesuai sangat. Senang switching from rear to front and vice versa. Memang terasa cukup luas. Budak kecik 2-3 tahun surely very enjoy sitting, playing inside it.
- Suis power window front door placed kat tengah2 between gear knob. Right side for driver's and left side for front passenger. This one for me agak luar biasa coz i prefer semua control switches dekat pintu driver. Mula2 agak janggal but lama2 ok. so..ok la..
- Meter speedo digital. Memang best. Tapi takde meter rpm (tacho)
- Ada banyak area/compartment untuk letak barang2.
     1) Atas dashboard
     2) Pocket beside steering wheel
     3) Pocket kat driver's door (besar) complete with cup & bottle holder.
     4) Center compartment below gear knob
     5) Inside dashboard front passenger.
     6) Pocket kat front passenger's door (besar) complete with cup & bottle holder
     7) Both rear doors' pocket
- Got 2 AC output. 1 kat depan and 1 lagi kat belakang rear seat
- Front armrest
- Height adjustable driver's seat
- No cd changer. Only 1 cd at a time. Sound system.......biasa je. Speaker only kat depan.
- Bonet belakang cukup luas. Rear seats can be folded
- Spare tyre dekat luar-bawah bonet belakang. ....Leceh sket

  

Engine / Performance
- 2.0 litre petrol 16V
- Max 137 hp at 6000 rpm
- Max torque 191 Nm at 4100 rpm
- 4 speed auto with tiptronic
- 0~100 km/h in 10.5s
- Topspeed 190 km/h.
- I can say, keta ni tak power mana pun but as a family car, it's enough.

Safety / Technology
- EURO NCAP crash test - 4 stars
- 2 front airbags, and 2 double side airbags
- Electric adjust & fold side mirror
- Headlights height control
- Autocruise
- Rain sensor (auto wiper)
- Auto headlights
- Fog lamps front and rear
- ABS, ESP, EBD, traction control.......etc......

Driving
- It's simple..it is comfortable.
- Acceleration and speed are below my expectation but like i mentioned above, as a family car, it's enough.
- The standard 15" rims accelerates lighter before i changed to 17" rims where to get more 'looks'
- Really enjoy driving long distance. I drive from jb to kl stress-free!
- Does well in traffic.
- Ada sikit rasa berbuai tapi itu normal as an mpv
- Kurang efficient during corner
- Brake & control are superb
- Fuel efficiency - kalau pakai standard 15" rims, memang jimat. according to Citroen, for urban 12.5L/100km; extra-urban (hi-way) 6.4L/100km; combined 8.6L/100km. but mine has canged to 17" rims, it's heavier and more FC.

Price
- Bought new (2005/2007) in Sep 2007 - RM 90,000
- Today (28 Jan 2011) used (2004~2007) - RM 38,000~60,000

Overall
- I give 7 / 10.
- Comfortness scores the most. Convinient and efficient for a family with 2-3 kids.
- The most fail part is the look. Quite odd and maybe too 'uncle' la..haha.. But boleh disolek.. Cuma susah sket la nak dapatkan accessories. And talking about accessories, memang leceh. Cannot install additional audio / video system. Tried to install but orang kedai just tak dapat nak connect to the main power and the CPU. So, kena la beli external dvd player for extra in-car entertainment.
- Another poor things are the maintenance and resale value. Maintenance quite high..since i never gone to other service center than 'Brooklands Motor' which is really 'potong kepala'. I heard that there few shops in KL area also can do servicing and parts for Citroen which give lower price than Brooklands Motor. So the best to check those shops out first
- Resale value - Of coz...Citroen..where got many buyer/fans kat Malaysia ni..haha.. Tapi hanya jauhari kenal manikam.. Once u experience the right Citroen, then u'll become that 'jauhari' :)
